Puzzled about how to write an Artist Statement? Unhappy with your current Statement?
Artists paint/sculpt/sew/pot. They often have trouble describing what they do in words. Still, artists sometimes need to produce a statement about their work for a show, for their website, or when applying for a grant. This workshop explores how you can go beyond the obscurity of “artspeak” to present an open, honest statement of your current work, or the work you intend to do in the future.
Naomi Beth Wakan is a personal essayist and the Poet Laureate of Nanaimo.
